Western Esotericism has a long history that takes root in the spiritual traditions of antiquity, and has transformed and survived to the present day. Today, esotericism is both a current of spiritual practices and a field of multidisciplinary academic study. This course is a historical and theoretical overview of esotericism, and will contribute to demystify this field, as well as to underline its academic importance.

Pharmacology of behavior. Drug classification and their effect on behavior. Experimental and therapeutic use and drug addiction. Links between neuroscience and spirituality.

Préparation de projets de recherche comparatifs et quantitatifs. Utilisation des banques de données. Les enquêtes et sondages. L'analyse statistique : corrélations, régression, tendances et inférence statistique. Exemples tirés de l'étude des conflits à caractère ethnique et religieux ainsi que des relations humaines et spiritualité.

Durant les dernières années, nous avons vu un regain d'intérêt important dans les effets thérapeutiques et spirituels potentiels des substances psychédéliques, que ce soit dans le monde scientifique, ou dans le grand publique. Ce cours est un survol historique, spirituel et biopsychosocial du domaine des études psychédéliques, de la préhistoire à aujourd'hui.

Introduction à la psychologie de la religion et survol de ses principales théories.

Initiation au domaine émergent en études contemplatives et le bien-être. Identification des différentes traditions culturelles (historiques et contemporaines) pour appuyer la concentration, ainsi que qu'élargir et approfondir la pleine conscience. Étude critique et expérience de certaines méthodes pour favoriser l'empathie, la santé et le bien-être.

A study of harm-reduction approaches and differentiation among substances on the basis of public health, with an emphasis on human rights and social concerns.

Initiation to the emerging field of contemplative studies and well-being. Identification of methods across time and cultures to concentrate, broaden and deepen awareness. Critical study of a variety of methods and experience of these on the development of empathy, health, well-being.
